Adam Forshaw has come under heavy fire in recent times, last night he showed just how good he can be. A clever player with undoubted ability on the ball and a burning desire off it things just haven’t clicked for him on a consistent basis. Eyebrows were beginning to raise, but he picked a good time to show his ability when it mattered.
Forshaw captained the side last weekend in the FA Cup at Queens Park Rangers, a bit of a strange move by Marcelo Bielsa given Luke Ayling was on the park. He didn’t play well, it was the latest in a string of poor performances by himself and the side. Before that he wasn’t playing outstanding, but also not poor, just somewhere in between, “steady” a good word for it. He has been criticised heavily in recent times, not just him but he’s at the top of many lists in terms of fans who believe players aren’t performing for the side.

Above is a breakdown of his performance in last nights mullering of Derby County. Make no mistake this was the Adam Forshaw that we signed, a player who can control and dictate a game of football, harass and bully opposition players and perform as the engine of Leeds United. Even his biggest critics won’t be able to fault his performance last night and it was from start to finish, a dominating and outstanding display from the central midfielder.
Leeds United need players that are currently fit have to stand up, be counted and actually excel. We don’t have the numbers or the squad to be able to chop and change if things aren’t going well, we have eleven or twelve players who must perform at their maximum if we are to keep up this tremendous assault on the Championship. This can ne the catalyst for Adam Forshaw to step up and help lead a side that needs someone like him pulling every string possible.
