Middlesbrough “remain interested” in Leeds United linked QPR playmaker

According to a report from London Football News, Championship side Middlesbrough remain interested in Queens Park Rangers star Luke Freeman – who has recently been linked with a move to Leeds United.

Championship play-off hopefuls Middlesbrough reportedly still hold an interest in Queens Park Rangers playmaker Luke Freeman.

It was reported during the summer transfer window prior to the start of the 2018/19 Championship season that Middlesbrough were keen on bringing in Freeman. Now, it has emerged that they have not yet dropped their interest in the midfielder.

Boro were one of many clubs to be linked with a move for Freeman last summer. Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers were also interested in the signing the former Arsenal youth player. Reports emerged last week from talkSPORT that Leeds United could make a move for the 26-year-old if they win promotion to the Premier League this summer.

Freeman has continued to impress at Loftus Road throughout this season. The midfielder has played 36 games in all competitions so far, picking up an impressive nine goals and six assists across the Championship, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Last season, Freman was a star man in Queens Park Rangers’ side. He missed only one Championship game throughout the entire season, only missing out through suspension. The playmaker provided an impressive 13 assists, netting five goals along the way as well.

Now, after another strong season, QPR look set to be in for another battle to hold on to their star man, with the number of clubs interested in a possible summer move growing.
