Mark Warburton says QPR will be active in the transfer window this summer

Mark Warburton has confirmed that QPR will be active in the transfer window this summer.

The former Brentford, Rangers and Nottingham Forest boss has replaced Steve McClaren at the helm at Loftus Road and is looking to put his own stamp on his newly inherited squad as he looks ahead to next season.

Warburton is expecting both comings and goings over the summer. He has said, as per a report by West London Sport: “We’ll be active. We’ll be looking at players, young and old. In terms of experience, we have to have maturity, seniority and experience of this really tough division, but at the same time you want youth, energy, hunger and desire as well. If we can get that balance right we’re in a good place.”

Every club will be vying for the same, but there are some good players out there – some of them young who would benefit from coming to a club like QPR, and some good senior names who can add their maturity and game knowledge to what is a young squad of players.”

The 56-year-old is well aware of financial restrictions that could effect his sides’ business: “The club have had problems in recent years – well documented -and the job of the owners is to make sure the club is on a sound financial footing. I know exactly what we can and can’t do. The clarity is there for me, now hopefully we can go and do a job.”
