West Brom eye loan deal for Chelsea starlet – swoop depends on one condition

According to a report from The Athletic, West Brom could look to strike a loan deal for Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher, who has spent this season on loan in the Championship with Charlton Athletic and Swansea City.

Chelsea starlet Conor Gallagher has been a revelation in the Championship this season. The 2019/20 campaign has seen the midfielder get his first taste of senior football and he has thoroughly impressed.

While with Charlton Athletic, Gallagher starred in Lee Bowyer’s midfield. The 20-year-old scored six goals and laid on four assists in 24 appearances for the Addicks before switching to fellow Championship side Swansea City for the remainder of the campaign.

Gallagher has impressed with Swansea City as well. In his 10 appearances with the club, he has not yet opened his account for the club bit has provided an impressive five assists. Now, with the summer transfer window approaching, speculation has grown regarding his situation.

Championship promotion hopefuls West Brom – who sit in 2nd as it stands – are said to be interested in a potential loan move for Gallagher. The move would depend on whether or not the Baggies are able to win promotion to the Premier League. West Brom are said to be big fans of the youngster and would be ready to offer him first-team football if he made the loan move to the Hawthorns.
